Every platform says it is affordable. Yet most take a commission on each donation — 1.5 to 5% on some campaign platforms — on top of the bank fees your payment processor already charges. For a community raising $100–150K a year, that “detail” becomes a budget line of its own.
Two lines of fees, not one
When you take a donation online, two parties can help themselves: the payment processor (Stripe, GoCardless, Cardcom…), whose fees apply whatever tool you use, and the fundraising platform itself. The first line is unavoidable. The second is not.
Unisoft takes nothing on donations: 0% commission on the Unlimited plan. You only pay your processor. A platform taking 1.5–5% per gift costs a $100–150K community between $1,500 and $7,500 a year — where Unisoft Unlimited costs $2,148 a year, flat, with no end-of-campaign surprise.
A flat fee changes the psychology of fundraising
Beyond the math, commissions have a perverse effect: the better your campaign performs, the more you pay. An exceptional year — a gala that beats its goal, an emergency appeal — mechanically becomes more expensive. With a flat plan, a great year costs exactly the same as a quiet one, and every extra dollar raised stays a dollar for your mission.
How to check what you are paying today
- Pull the gross amount raised online over the last 12 months.
- In your current platform, find the “platform fee” line — or compare what donors gave with what you received.
- Separate bank fees (unavoidable) from platform fees (avoidable).
- Multiply the commission by next year’s goal — that is the real cost of staying.
Data migration from your current system is included with Unisoft — so the saving starts with your first campaign, not after a six-month project.
