Cardcom + Unisoft — the Israeli processor that speaks Hebrew, settles in shekels.
Cardcom is one of Israel's historical payment gateways, founded in 1994, PCI-DSS Level 1, with a permanent merchant acquiring license from the Bank of Israel. Combined with Unisoft, every Cardcom charge auto-generates the IL 46א receipt, the Hebrew-tax-authority invoice (חשבונית מס / קבלה) and updates the donor file in seconds.
Why Israeli synagogues, Beth Habad and yeshivot choose Cardcom with Unisoft
Native Bit support — the dominant peer-to-peer payment app in Israel that donors expect for tzedakah, alongside Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal.
Full Israeli merchant acquiring license — funds settle directly into Israeli bank accounts in ILS without cross-border friction, critical for ר"ע / ע"מ status organizations.
Hebrew-first interface and Israeli support team — gabbaim and treasurers operate in Hebrew, removing the adoption barrier of US-centric processors.
Built-in digital invoicing (חשבונית מס / קבלה) compliant with the Israeli Tax Authority — a legal requirement for any donation collected by a registered Israeli nonprofit.
How the Cardcom ↔ Unisoft sync works
- Every Cardcom charge — online page, recurring standing order (הוראת קבע), virtual terminal or Tap-on-Phone — pushes into Unisoft, which creates the contact, attaches the donation to the right campaign, and emits the matching receipt.
- Pledges, recurring tzedakah commitments, kupat tzedakah and event tickets created in Unisoft trigger Cardcom payment links sent by SMS, email or WhatsApp via Yossi.
- Receipt orchestration: the IL 46א charitable receipt (אישור לפי סעיף 46א) is auto-generated from each Cardcom transaction, alongside the standard מס/קבלה invoice — in Hebrew, with the donor's civic identity correctly formatted.
- Settlements landing in your Israeli bank account are reconciled back to Unisoft donations — the gabbai sees a unified view of charged, cleared and pending payments (failed cards, expired Bit, etc.).
Three real situations where Cardcom shines
Yeshiva in Bnei Brak — monthly standing orders
400 supporting families on monthly horaat keva via Cardcom. Each charge auto-generates a 46א receipt in Unisoft and triggers an SMS thank-you in Hebrew the same minute.
Tel Aviv Beth Habad — Pesach campaign
Pesach donation page embedded on the kehila site via Cardcom. Donations flow into Unisoft as a campaign with live progress shown to the shaliach by Yossi on WhatsApp.
Jerusalem chevra kadisha — walk-in donors
Bit + virtual terminal at the office for walk-in donors. Unisoft links each transaction to the family file with Yahrzeit dates and relations — the next reminder goes out at the right Hebrew date.
Specifically built for Israeli Jewish life
- IL 46א tax receipts auto-issued in Hebrew with full Israeli Tax Authority formatting — no manual export, no Excel.
- Hebrew calendar awareness — recurring charges and reminders tied to Yahrzeit, Rosh Chodesh or Yom Tov dates rather than only Gregorian.
- Maaser tracking — donors mark gifts as Maaser Kesafim and receive an annual statement consolidating their year of giving.
- Shabbat-aware automation — Unisoft holds Cardcom-triggered SMS, email and WhatsApp during Shabbat and Yom Tov, releases at motzaei Shabbat.
- Aliyah / cross-shore giving — olim chadashim keep their donation history; international supporters get CERFA / Gift Aid / 501(c)(3) receipts in their fiscal channel while ILS donors get 46א.
